A Lent 2027 Bible reading plan
Last updated
Lent 2027 begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, and runs to Easter Sunday, March 28. The four Gospels have 89 chapters, so reading about two a day finishes them in the 40 days of Lent, not counting Sundays. Palm Sunday is March 21 and Good Friday is March 26.
The dates
Ash Wednesday 2027 is February 10 and Easter Sunday is March 28. The period from February 10 through March 27 is 46 days. Six of them are Sundays, which many traditions do not count in the 40 days, leaving 40.
The math for the Gospels
Matthew has 28 chapters, Mark 16, Luke 24 and John 21, for 89 in all. At two chapters a day over 40 days you finish with a few days to spare.
A simple order
Read Mark first, the shortest, then Matthew, Luke and John. Save John's last chapters for Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday, March 21.
If you want smaller
